Schwayg Main Harts is a 3D printed model of an ancient trunk of an inaccessible part of the Białowieża forest. This replica, essentially a printed 'point cloud' (a 3-dimensional computer captured model describing points in space) is illuminated by its own texture, which changes from the point cloud to the photographic surface of the tree. What remains is pure fiction, an empty shell. This simulated tree sings the original of Nature Boy, namely Yablokoff's original lament Shvayg Main Harts (Be Still My Heart), about loneliness and displacement.
With this the journey that song and tree have made is once again depicted: from original to replica, from reality to illusion.
